Field Experience Grants for Outdoor Learning

The Conservation Education Assistance Fund (CEAF) is an easy-to-apply for, small grants program just announced by the Habitat Conservation Trust Foundation.

CEAF provides K-12 classes and schools in BC with small grants for outdoor field experiences. The purpose of CEAF is to help provide meaningful outdoor experiences for students that support inquiry and field investigation skill development.

For children and parents, naturalists and teachers, for anyone interested in learning about the intriguing world of salmon, the Young Naturalists’ Club of BC has brought together fascinating and fun-filled facts to help you on your way.

In SalmonWILD you’ll learn about salmon lifecycles and discover how salmon navigate back to their home stream. You’ll connect with First Nations salmon culture and discover how salmon are vital to the Circle of Life.

You’ll learn where to find salmon and where to find more information about salmon. You can get involved in helping protect salmon and their habitat by diving into some of the stewardship activities and get inspired for action by reading about our salmon champion professionals and children in the field.

Hug-A-Tree Contest

Categories: 1.  Photography    2. Art      3. Poetry

Wonderful prizes for the winners and the runners up.  

There are two levels for entries: 
(a) 8 years old and under and, 
(b) 9 years old and above. 
YNC members can enter any or all three categories.

Photography: Your Most Amazing Tree Hug—with one hugger, or as many as you can organize.  You can also enter this photograph with Nature Canada’s Most Amazing Tree Hug competition at www.natureexplorers.ca 

Art: Your Favourite tree in winter—a drawing, a painting a collage, or any other art form.

Poetry:  I love Trees—write a poem about your favourite tree or your favourite forest.
